My 4 Make Up Essentials

These are my TOP 4 ESSENTIAL products everyday - I feel you can't use one without the other!!

1. Primer
2. Concealer
3. Foundation
4. Powder

Firstly you need to be using the right Foundation so you need to know your skin type are you dry, oily combination? That's why sometimes your make up may not look right or sit right.

Also What texture do you like matte or dewy, sheer? Or which suits you best!

And are you wearing the proper shade?
I recommend having two foundations one for with tan and one without tan. Your make up for mid week is not going to match for when you have your tan on for a night out! You will be much darker! Golden tones usually suit best when you have your tan on! (ie. since coming back from holidays I'm an nc 35 or nc 37 in MAC prolong wear foundation and the same when wearing tan) I recommend wearing tan into the store eg MAC store and getting colour matched!

Next question is are you using a primer or a powder and most times the answer is no!!! For making your foundation long lasting and giving it the staying power it needs you will need to use these items together to work!

A Primer will even out the skin texture, hold the foundation longer and plump the skin taking away lines.

Using a setting powder or pressed powder all over the face after applying foundation is a must, I love MAC translucent setting powder!

A Powder will take away shine and holds the foundation much longer!! You can also get a compact version which is handier for on the go. I usually use MAC mineralise skin finish powder in medium plus throughout the day or nights out for any top up....never having to top up using my foundation, only my powder!!

Another essential is Concealer I always put mine on before foundation to get rid of darkness under my eyes so my foundation is going on to an even base! I recommend in MAC using a warmer tone (ie I use nw25 in mineralise concealer) for under the eyes to disguise dark circles and then apply a cooler toned concealer on any high coloured areas to disguise redness or broken capillaries or spots etc!

But remember you must use all products to make your foundation last as long as you want it to!!

Hope these help!!
