Hi everyone,
So I've decided to do a post on my make routine, the order I apply it and how I apply it... I'm going to do it in two parts...firstly what i use and how and the second post will be what brushes I use for certain products!!
I know for me from previous years I see something on Facebook someone had used and I think oh wow il get that then when I get it..ok how do I actually apply it or where does it even go on my face? Or what order do I even apply these things?!!
So this is just based on how I learned to apply make up from my course I actually tweeked it around a little just from experience now I find it easier to apply certain products before other ones etc. it comes with practice and what you think looks good or even what you find easier or quicker to do over time!!
So firstly I apply my moisturiser I wait about 5 mins and then apply my primer using about two pea sized amounts, all over the face.
I then apply a tiny amount of MAC strobe cream to the face to give that little healthy illuminating look to the skin ( a must have product!!)
Next I use my mac mineralise concealer in nw25 under the eye area, in a triangle shape and also in areas where I have blemishes or breakouts.
Next I apply my foundation I love MAC prolongwear or studio fix as I'm quite oily so it gives me a more matte finish with good coverage. I use my blank canvas F20 brush for this which i will discuss more in the next post. I use the shade nc30 or nc35 as I always wear tan going out. Nc has a more golden tone.
Up next I apply my powder I use mac translucent powder all over dusting it lightly over the whole face. (Love) it also comes in a compact version.
Next up I usually go to my brows brushing them through with a disposable wand then I apply my anastacia dipbrow in dark brown using my MAC 208 brow brush and combing through again to look more natural. I sometime use my HD palette or mystery or espresso shadow from MAC. Omega shade is great for fair hair or blondes. Anastacia dipbrow comes in many different shades!
Next you can either do the eyes or contour/ highlight!! Up to you!! Whichever you find easier!!
Today il pick contour first I apply my contour using my sleek palette or 'harmony' from mac (a browny contour powder) creating a 3 shape on my face, think of 3 motions also
-top of forehead
-ear to mouth
-jawline
I use my blank canvas red brush lightly for no harsh lines or my crown contour brush.
Next up blush, easiest way to apply blush is to smile and apply it to the apples of the cheeks! Simple!
I love all my MAC blushers but my fave powder blushes are -
Dame, pink swoon, dainty, peaches, warm soul and Melba.
I am also so impressed with the crown palettes at the moment I honestly think they are a must have €15!!!!!! For ten shades!! Bargain!!
On to highlight, I use either MAC soft & gentle highlight (powder) or hush from MAC (cream highlight) I love them both. With highlighting you are creating a 'C' shape around your eye so starting tops of the cheek up around the temple! So when the light hits your face you will have a beautiful highlighted look! With hush I use my fingers and with soft and gentle I use a brush! Here is a pic to help ~
brown is contour, pink is blush and yellow is highlight!
On to the eyes, so firstly I use MAC painterly paint pot all over to put a base on the eyes, then I apply a colour like Brule a matte cream eyeshadow all over, next I use a soft matte brown like kid onto the lid and in the crease. This is a perfect everyday shade! I use my 217 mac blending brush! If you want to do a night time look put a darker shade in the outer corner and put a shimmer colour on the lid for a smokey eye effect!
(Kid from MAC)
Next up pop on your liner I'm using inglot 77 gel liner at the moment and really liking it! I apply this with an angle brush!
I love to pop something like a soft brown under the lower lash to define the eyes you can use an eyeshadow for this or just your pencil like teddy or coffee from MAC both brown. Can be used in the water line also.
For night time pop on a bit of black eye pencil like feline or black brilliance pencils from MAC!!
